Get Ready for Spring & Start Loving Your Home Again! Now is the time to put some love in your home by sprucing up the walls with interesting colors that will energize or relax you and make you feel inspired. One of the first things you see when you walk into a room is the wall color which can lift your spirits faster than almost anything else. Color is magical and one of my specialties is creating color to increase or decrease the spaciousness of a room, change its mood or create a new environment. It's an inexpensive project which can save you time and money when done right with the proper color and design plan in place. This can also be a great way to detract from less than perfect furniture. It is perfectly ok to paint each room using a different color. However, there should be continuity with the color used for all baseboards/crown moulding and door frames in order to bring balance to your home. These areas generally work well with neutral tones, e.g. Behr - Swiss Coffee 1812. It's not necessary for ceiling colors to be the same. However, when one large room serves two purposes, the ceiling should be the same color. Plan your design and paint project and be sure that all colors complement your space. *This Season's Tip...* Use Florentine Clay - ICC -101 Behr for an accent wall. Remaining colors could be Baked Scone - ICC - 21. Use Swiss Coffee - 1812 Behr for baseboards/crown moulding, ceilings, door/window trims. With this color scheme, I recommend Off White Window Treatments, an Off White Sofa - (fabric that suits your space/requirements) and accent chas in a warm cocoa color. To create interest, I recommend the texture of the sofa to be different from the accent chairs. These colors are warm and inviting and will all come together when the proper area rug and décor related items are added. Lighting is also key in updating your space.
